You need to use boiling water and let them soak for 5-10 minutes. Then the skin will come off.

You are welcome. You can easily do all almonds in one batch. It is just about adding some extra hot water.

Recently, a friend offered me some nuts. They were easier to eat, al dente rather than hard. I asked her secret. At night, she covers the nuts in room temperature water and lets them sit until the morning. It gives them a very pleasing texture. I found that cashews soften very quickly and that 1-2 hours in water is usually enough. I always roast my nuts before I use them. I roast the still wet nuts in the oven, sprinkling them with a little salt if appropriate, until they are the color I like.
